Presidential Promotion
On behalf of the Executive Committee, IFCN, I am delighted to welcome you to the 34th International Congress of Clinical Neurophysiology. It is a pleasure to visit Cartagena, the first visit of an ICCN to Colombia and a reflection of the IFCN’s aim to spread best practice and education in Clinical Neurophysiology widely throughout the world.
Our scientific committee, co-chaired by Professors Tankisi and Guterriez, will be working hard to combine recent advances in research with the best clinical teaching to provide a congress of both breadth and depth. The ICCN is also an opportunity to work with our colleagues in the ACME and others from the Latin American Chapter. One of the real pleasures of IFCN work is this interaction with those who begin as colleagues and then become friends.
It must also be said that this opportunity to come to Cartagena with its rich colonial history and Caribbean aspect is part of the appeal. In addition to the excellent lectures, symposia and workshops, we hope you will all be able to explore the old town and the coast. Our ICCNs are primarily but not exclusively about work. So, please submit something for the congress, or come to learn. But also find time for the beauty and history of the area and take part in the exciting social programme being developed. In this way we can all learn more of our wonderful specialty but also enjoy the chance for some to meet old friends and for younger colleagues to form those collaborations which then themselves become friendships.

As President of the Colombian Association of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, it’s our great pleasure and honor to welcome you to Cartagena for the 34th International Congress of Clinical Neurophysiology (ICCN 2026), which will take place from September 8 to 12, 2026.
