Abstract Submissions

ICCN 2026
September 8-12, 2026

See You in Cartagena!

Submit an Abstract - Deadline extended to Feb 23!

We invite you to present your scientific research at ICCN 2026, the 34th International Congress of Clinical Neurophysiology, taking place from September 8th-12th, 2026, in Cartagena, Colombia.

Submission options
Case reports, case series, observational studies (cohort and case-control studies), randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses. Accepted abstracts will be presented as either oral or poster presentations.

ORAL PRESENTATIONS
These sessions aim to demonstrate high-quality research practices. Selected papers should be experimental, noteworthy for scientific merit, and valuable for illustrating the research process.

POSTER PRESENTATIONS
Posters will be displayed in the poster area for one-on-one discussion using both narrative and visual materials to share study objectives, methods, results, and conclusion. Visuals like photos, charts, and diagrams are essential. The Presenting Author should be available at scheduled times to answer questions and discuss them with attendees.

General Rules

Abstracts may be submitted for either oral or poster presentations. The Congress Scientific Committee will review abstracts to determine whether to be accepted as oral or poster presentation. They will respect the authors' preference but reserve the right to assign the category and make the final decision. Submitted abstracts can be modified before the submission deadline.

Abstract Topics: Abstracts must be allocated to a specific topic. You will need to select the topic most suited to your abstract from this list. (See graphic of topics below)

Research study abstracts must be structured to summarize the research objectives, design, results, and conclusion. Objectives should contain the background and purpose of the study. Design section should explain key methods, procedures, interventions, and any controls in the study - allowing the reader to infer limitations of the data.

Case report abstracts must be structured in the following four categories: Case Diagnosis, Case Description, Discussion, and Conclusion. Case Reports and series cases can be presented only as posters.

Abstracts containing statements such as ‘data to be presented’ or ‘the significance of the findings will be discussed’ are not acceptable. Conclusions should explain the meaning and importance of the results, and perhaps state any new questions identified.

The submitter and co-authors will NOT receive any notifications and will NOT be able to upload the poster or present the abstract. The submitter must get permission from co-authors and disclose any direct or indirect relationships that could bias the research or its outcomes (conflict of interest).  By listing someone as an author, the submitter is stating that listed individuals agree to the work, and the submitter is responsible for ensuring they have approved the final version before submission.

Duplicate submissions
You must not submit the same abstract under more than one presentation format and/or email. The submission of duplicate abstracts or multiple email addresses will, unfortunately, lead to the immediate rejection of the abstract(s) involved. If a duplication is detected, the presenting author will be notified by email.

If you have already submitted your abstract and wish to make changes, you can easily re-open and edit the submission until the portal is closed. Simply follow the link provided in the Abstract acceptance email from Fourwaves. Please save this email.

Presenter must register and pay to attend ICCN.

Would you like to be considered for a travel grant?  During the abstract submission process, the presenting author will have an opportunity to designate their interest to be considered for a travel grant. The eligibility requirements are:

  • Please note you can only apply once for a travel grant.
  • Travel grant applicants must be less than 40 years old as of September 8, 2026.
  • If the abstract is accepted and scores highly, the Awards Committee will review the submission and determine the grant amount based on geographical location. Recipients will be notified in May, 2026 and will be required to submit a W8 or W9.
  • Only the presenting author can apply for a travel grant.
  • Authors using multiple emails to submit abstracts will be disqualified from participating.

Onsite Poster Session Times and Author Attendance

Posters are required to be displayed during posted hours on both days of the Congress:
 * Thursday, September 10  9:00am-4:00pm
 * Friday, September 11  9:00am-4:00pm

Poster Presentation
Authors are expected to stand by and present their poster during their assigned 90-minute Poster Session which will take place on either:

  * Friday, September 10  12:00pm-1:30pm

The Oral presentation schedule will be released by April 3rd

By submitting an abstract to ICCN26, abstract authors agree that at least one author will attend the meeting and will be available to present on the date and at the time assigned by the Scientific Committee. Once poster and/or oral presentations have been scheduled, the complexity of the program planning process prevents any changes in the type of session, time, or location of the presentation. There are no exceptions.

When will I find out if my abstract has been accepted for presentation?

ICCN will send an e-mail notification to the presenting author by April 3, 2026. Only the person listed as the presenting author will receive this notification. The presenting author is then responsible for notifying additional co-authors. Notifications will be sent to presenting authors whether the abstract is accepted or rejected.

How do I withdraw my abstract?

If you decide to withdraw your abstract prior to the submission and editing deadline (23:59 ET (UTC -5) on Sunday, February 1, 2026), you may log into the abstract submission system and withdraw your abstract there. After this deadline, abstract withdrawal requests should be emailed to info@ifcn.info. Include your abstract control number, title, and the presenting author’s name in your email.

Whom do I contact with additional questions?

Please email any questions to Kathy Uy, ICCN Senior Meetings Manager at info@ifcn.info.
